The Invincible Garden Ladies with Abra Lee

From the ordinary to the extraordinary, Black women have made their mark on American horticultural history. Join us for a conversation during Women’s History Month with renowned horticulturist Abra Lee, founder of Conquer The Soil, a community which explores the history, folklore, and art of horticulture. Lee will discuss how these women used plants as their language to express pride in community and self.

I am a proud Southerner, horticultural storyteller, lover of hip-hop, and servant leader with an unwavering commitment to guide current and future generations of horticulture professionals. My purpose is to do the greatest good for the greatest number of people and empower everyone to see the potential in themselves and the beauty of their natural surroundings.
