On Wednesday: August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson

REEL LIFE–A SUMMER FILM SERIES continues on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 7:00pm in the Winsor Room.

The Piano Lesson is celebrated playwright August Wilson’s play that was produced as a 1994 teleplay, presented by Hallmark Hall of Fame and CBS Television. RML obtained rights to screen it to the public for one-time only.

Please join us for the Pittsburgh native’s Pulitzer Prize winning play as we celebrate literary excellence in our film series. Wilson also won a Pulitzer Prize for Fences, which will be screened on Wednesday, July 31, also at 7:00pm.

Wilson educated himself at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh during school hours, unbeknownst to his mother. Carnegie Library eventually awarded August Wilson an honorary degree because of his frequent use of their facilities–the only degree they have conferred to date.
