American Realism: Artists Portraying The World Around Them As They Saw It

Christina's World (A. Wyeth)On Tuesday, June 9, 7:00PM, author and art collector Frederick T. Dixon returns to Radnor Library for a presentation on eight artists of the late 19th and 20th centuries that captured the American Realism scene in a wide range of ways.

Homer, Eakins, Henri, Glackens, Bellows, Hopper, Rockwell, and Wyeth each had their own unique style and selected different subject matter—but their accomplishments did not always receive widespread critical acclaim.

Fred Dixon is the author of the recently published 700 Years of Art History: Pre-Renaissance To Modernism. Fred and his wife, Martha, have collected art for 35 years and were docents at the Barnes Foundation for 10 years.

Books will be available for purchase.

I hope to see you there!
