We’re ready for the Great Backyard Bird Count!

This past weekend, the Winsor Room was filled with bird lovers who are looking forward to the Great Backyard Bird Count, February 14-17, 2014.

We’re all proud to be part of Bird Town Pennsylvania in Radnor Township. And just like last year, Radnor Library and Radnor Conservancy hosted Steven Saffier, Audubon Pennsylvania’s At Home Coordinator, who gave an informative and entertaining presentation to a large crowd.  More people came out this year than last, and we expect to see our numbers soar this time, next year.

Philip Wallis, Executive Director of Audubon Pennsylvania, selected the many winners of the raffle for premium birdseed and other goodies, donated by Lou Muth. Lou is the owner of Do It Best, in Wayne.

John Fischer, (Radnor Conservancy, Jenkins Arboretum) introduced our guests and members of Radnor Conservancy were on hand to make it all worth getting up early and out of the house on a Saturday morning. That’s not always easy to do…

Many thanks to Kathleen Pollack for picking up the bagels and going to Do It Best for the gifts from Lou. We are grateful for everything else everyone did to make this event such a success!
