Former Tehran Embassy hostage to speak at Radnor Memorial Library

On Wednesday, November 28 at 7:30pm, retired foreign service political officer Michael Metrinko will speak on U.S-Afghanistan Policy: Prospects of Success. Radnor Historical Society is the Library’s co-sponsor for this event.

If this sounds familiar, that’s because Mr. Metrinko was scheduled to speak earlier in the month but due to poor weather conditions, we cancelled the event.

Metrinko has more than 40 years of experience in the Islamic World and was a member of the Tehran Embassy staff taken hostage in 1979, spending 14 months as a prisoner.

In Mark Bowden’s book, Guests of the Ayatollah, Metrinko emerged as one of the central figures in the hostage crisis.

I hope to see you at this important presentation.

See you at the Library,
