We bet the garden!

Thanks, Mike!

What a day it was. On his way home from WHYY Studios in Philadelphia, Mike McGrath stopped off in Wayne to shake the top soil off his boots, probably never thinking he’d have to plow his way through the crowd in the Winsor Room to give a talk about tomatoes. But plow, he did.

In between his eggshell crushing and his tree hugging, Mike talked about tomatoes, teenagers, and Rush Limbaugh. Yes, there’s a relationship there…but it’s hard to explain. Even if I tried, it wouldn’t be as funny as how Mike tells it.

Radnor Memorial Library and Radnor Conservancy were so thrilled with the turnout. And the best part? A Library grant, a glorious windfall, called the All the Seasons of Green, made the event possible. A special colleague, Molly Carroll, made the event even better.
