Awesome Ardrossan

David Nelson Wren in the Winsor Room at Radnor Memorial Library, 2010

David Nelson Wren filled so many people with delight on Tuesday night with his intimate knowledge of Ardrossan, the famous Radnor estate.  It  was one of those nights when you didn’t want the talk to end…a room packed with people and you could have heard a pin drop. What most concerns the Ardrossan lovers is that we don’t know how this Philadelphia story will end.

Radnor Memorial Library, Radnor Conservancy and Radnor Historical Society were so thrilled to welcome what we think was  the largest group of event-goers we have ever attracted to the Winsor Room for one of our co-sponsored events. Even some Montgomery family members (I met the Montgomerys from Connecticut) were there to hear Wren talk about their ancestors. How proud they must have been to hear the stories that the author shared with us!  After his talk, David introduced me to Ed Proudman, the “gendarme”/ property manager of Ardrossan who, I’m sure, could tell us a few stories of his own!

David is seeking a publisher for his book and he promised to come back for a book talk and book signing as soon as it becomes available.

Thank you, everyone, for making this event a huge success!
