Friday’s From Out The Fiery Furnace

These photos were taken on Friday night after Barbara Hannevig’s dramatic performance of Christine Emmert’s one-woman play, From Out The Fiery Furnace. Park Ranger Frances Delmar, a surprise guest from Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, talked to the audience before the play. After the performance, Christine and Frances answered questions about Hopewell and how the play was based on actual events brought about by the invention of the furnace. Because of its natural beauty, I was told this place is worth a visit anytime of year. It just so happens that this March, Hopewell has the designation of  National Park of the Month. Put this on your list (and mine) of day trips from Radnor!

Many thanks to Jim Heck of Studio 21 and Tom Ellis of Radnor Historical Society who were both there to record this event. That’s how we make history in the Winsor Room.
